EIGHT WEEKS & UP

Most students don't choose between Fundamentals and Advanced.
They train both.

Once you've completed your first eight weeks in Fundamentals, you're cleared to attend Advanced. But the smartest move isn't to switch — it's to add. Our curriculum runs on a 12-week cycle, so attending both classes lets you work the same material from two complementary angles: foundational depth in one, technical exploration in the other.

WHO IT'S FOR

This program is for you if...

You've trained for 3+ months

You know how to tap, you've rolled live, and you're starting to feel the gap between knowing a technique and being able to use it. This is where that gap closes.

You want technical depth

You've outgrown "here's a move, now drill it 10 times." You want to understand the why, see the connections, and build your own game.

You're a transfer from another academy

Trained elsewhere and looking for somewhere serious to keep building? Drop in, roll with us, see if the room feels right.

WHAT YOU GET

Modern Jiu Jitsu, taught with intention.

Advanced training is where the craft starts to show. Four things shape how we run these classes — what we teach, how we teach it, who you train with, and how we keep evolving alongside the sport.

Curriculum that goes deep, not wide

O1

We rotate through four to six week dedicated curriculums — each one a focused deep dive into a specific concept, position, or system. You don't get a random technique of the week. You get a complete framework, taught over multiple classes, with the time and structure to actually internalize it.

Drills & Skills: your game, with feedback

02

One day a week is dedicated to your projects — the positions you're working on, the problems you're stuck on, the techniques you're trying to make your own. We lead practice and circulate the room, giving you multiple layers of feedback from coaches who've been watching the work develop.

A room full of black belts and high-level training partners

03

Multiple black belts train here consistently — not as guest visitors, but as regulars on the mat. You'll roll with high-level partners across belt levels, every class. The room sets the bar, and it stays high.

Current with where the sport is going

04

Jiu Jitsu is evolving faster than ever. We stay current on the latest meta — what's working at the highest levels of competition, what's getting refined, what's getting solved. You don't have to choose between classical fundamentals and modern innovation. You get both.

WHAT YOU'LL EXPLORE

The full game, in deeper layers.

We rotate through four to six week dedicated curriculums —

each one a focused deep dive into a specific concept, position, or system.

Advanced guard systems

Lapel guards, leg entanglements, modern half guard — the systems that define competition-level guard play.

Multiple passing styles

How to dismantle modern guards. We teach the structural principles, not just the techniques. From pressure passing, to leg drags.

Submission systems

Back attacks, leg locks, kimura networks — interconnected attack chains, not isolated finishes.

Position specific training

Focused rounds from the positions you're working on, at increasing levels of resistance.

Live application

Every class. You'll test what you learned at training intensity.

Competition prep

If you want to compete, we'll coach you through it. If you don't, that's fine too. No pressure either way.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you come in.

Am I "advanced enough" for this class?

If you've completed eight weeks of Fundamentals — at JJC or elsewhere with comparable consistency — you're cleared. The class accommodates a wide range of skill levels. You don't need to be a purple belt to belong here.

I'm transferring from another academy. Do I need to start in Fundamentals?

No. Drop in, train Advanced, and let us know your background. We'll point you toward whichever classes fit best for where you're at right now. Most experienced transfers train both.

Is the room competitive or chill?

Both, depending on the day and who's there. Sundays during Team Training run harder. Weekday evenings are a mix. Ego stays off the mat across the board — everyone's there to learn.

Do I need to compete?

Not at all. We coach competitors and hobbyists with the same care. If you want to compete, we'll prep you. If you don't, you'll never feel pressured.

What's the gi vs no-gi split?

Roughly even — we run dedicated nights for both, plus mixed-format classes. Most students train both. The skills transfer in ways that surprise people.

What's Sunday Team Training?

A members-only session built for active students working on their game with consistent training partners. No drop-ins. You'll get an invite once you're enrolled.
