KIDS JIU JITSU
Our Kids' program is designed to teach your children important self defense and sportive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills in a fun, challenging. and engaging environment. Our primary focus is getting your children as good as possible at this amazing art and sport in a safe and enjoyable way.
As with our adult program, we emphasize using an organized curriculum that teaches the fundamental skills of Jiu Jitsu, while also ingraining soft skills such as mutual respect, working well with your friends, and growing with your teammates.
We care deeply about the safety and well being of your child. Our program is SafeSport certified by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation.
Gi and No Gi
Our Adult Fundamental Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program’s primary goal is to introduce you Jiu Jitsu in a way that is non intimating and intelligent. You will learn a fundamental practice that lays a foundation for sport Jiu Jitsu, and is also applicable to some self defense scenarios.
We provide an organized curriculum to take you from being a complete novice to being a capable Jiu Jitsu student who understands how to think critically about martial arts in a safe and fun environment. You will learn and practice the fundamental skills of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the methods of how to practice safely, and how to become a valuable member of the team so we can all grow together!
Gi and No Gi
Our Adult Advanced program picks up where our Beginner program leaves off. You will be working in an organized and structured environment where our goal is to help you become skillful in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in as short a time as possible. You will further refine your knowledge of how to think critically about Jiu Jitsu while training with and being mentored by skillful practice partners in a fun environment.
Our advanced curriculum provides a deeper knowledge of fundamental skills and practice methods, while keeping you updated on modern developments in the sport of BJJ. We pride ourselves on being able to provide an amazing mat culture that is truly inclusive, while providing organized and technical instruction.
The Jiu Jitsu Company is home to one of the largest female training populations in Philadelphia. All experience levels are represented from white belt to black belt. Around 20% of our current student body is female, so there are rarely times there aren't several women on the mat!
We also have a high number of women coaching and instructing classes for Kids, Fundamentals, and Judo to Advanced Jiu Jitsu.
Because we emphasize a safe and technical training floor where we require EVERYONE to be respectful of each others bodies and training preferences, we do not find a need to have any "Women's Only" classes. However, if you are initially more comfortable with a female training partner, please let us know and we are happy to accommodate you.

YOGA FOR BJJ
App Access + In Person Instruction
The Jiu Jitsu Company has partnered with Yoga for BJJ and Dr. Alyssia Pond to bring a consistent recovery yoga practice to the academy.
"Jiu Jitsu is a flexion-based activity, and the contractile forces required while grappling can lead to the contraction, or shortening, of certain muscle groups over time. Yoga helps to counteract these forces, to bring extension and expansion into the joints, and increase flexibility. Yoga is the perfect counter-stretch to a regular Jiu Jitsu practice, increasing one's overall mobility and muscle balance."

Students receive FREE yoga for BJJ membership/APP, in studio training opportunities, plus monthly workshops (with membership discounts) with expert coaching.

LIFTING FOR JIU JITSU
Weight Lifting is a great compliment to Jiu Jitsu not only for the strength it provides, but also for joint health, and injury prevention.
We have a Rogue lifting cage and bench for a full body workout, and up to 225 lb lifts. More than enough for a supplemental weight training program to compliment your BJJ.
Small weights like dumbbells, and kettlebells, plus recovery and stretching implements make for a well rounded workout space.
Additionally, we program basic lifting templates into our members app, where you can see videos of good technique, keep track of your weights, and monitor your progress.
