Catching you all up on what’s been going on. It’s been a whirl wind two weeks over here in Old City. We still have plenty to do to get ready for our grand opening June 1st, but here is a run down of what we’ve accomplished so far.
Lease terms met and keys acquired!
Insurance, LLC + Trademark
ZEBRA MATS!!! Ordered
website up, google listings started
print materials and swag ordered, waiting on signage (anyone know a sign person in Philly?)
waivers, and other legalities
curriculum and schedules almost done!
sinks installed (don’t ask me why the last tenants took the sinks lol)
changing room building started (we are going with individual rooms with bifold doors
painting in most rooms complete
puzzle mat flooring ordered for the bonus mat/weight room
This Weeks goals include finishing the changing rooms, painting those and the locker room, and painting the office. Picking up the flooring and putting together IKEA furniture for the lobby (the worst)
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us so far. We have had so many people reach out to us with great advice, helping hands, financial donations, and pre purchasing t shirts. A special thank you to all of our friends who donated their mats so we can teach our private lessons (frankenmats!!)
We wouldn’t be even halfway through this list without you. It makes the JJC even more special to have such a sense of community involvement right from the start.
It’s such an amazing feeling to be experiencing an actual dream come true. I can’t say enough how proud I am of Josh and seeing this happen for him has just been so special. He has poured himself into his students and Jiu Jitsu for so long, I can’t wait for him to reap the benefits, and he deserves all the good things headed his way!
